Read Their Names

Days of Remembrance 2021

Reading aloud the names of Holocaust victims helps ensure they are not forgotten. We must raise our voices because theirs were silenced:

Hanna Henner
Theodor Gawrilen
Jacob Lopes Cardozo

Anna Skrzypzcak
Viktor Stein
Rachel Dombrower

Max Fisch
Elizabeth Creveld
Oskar Mautner

Our annual commemoration was held virtually on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. ET. You can watch the program here. During Days of Remembrance, we remember victims of the Holocaust, honor survivors, and pay tribute to American liberators.

Remember Victims

This list contains the names of 5,000 individuals, a small fraction of the millions who were murdered by Nazi Germany and its collaborators between 1939 and 1945.

Honor Survivors

Holocaust survivor testimony provides eyewitness accounts of their experiences and teaches about the consequences of unchecked hatred and antisemitism.

Recognize Liberators

The Museum honors American soldiers and their army divisions who liberated victims of the Holocaust from Nazi concentration camps and other sites of incarceration.

Days of Remembrance

Days of Remembrance, led by the Museum, is the Congressionally mandated annual commemoration of the Holocaust.

The national Days of Remembrance ceremony will be on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at 11 a.m. ET. Observances and memorial activities will occur nationwide between Sunday, April 4, and Sunday, April 11.
