A New Chapter for Mein Kampf

The copyright for Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf, which was held for 70 years by the government of the German state of Bavaria, expired at midnight on December 31, 2015.

In preparation for this deadline, Germany’s Institute for Contemporary History in Munich has published a critical edition of the work, which contextualizes Hitler’s ideas and details the tragic role Nazi racial ideology played in the Holocaust.
